DIRECTING
Nikos is an award-winning director of feature and short film, TV, documentary and digital content. His focus is on narrative scripted comedy, sketcch, documentary and animation.
Nikos enjoys working with actors to conjure up great performances. As a working scriptwriter, editor, sound designer and composer, he knows his way around most aspects of production.
Internationally, Nikos's work has been shown on MTV, Comedy Central, JASH and FX in the USA, as well as at numerous film festivals around the world. His film Ad Nauseam won Best Foreign Feature at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival.
In Australia, Nikos directs regularly on broadcast television as well as for digital streaming services and branded content.

Nikos studied editing at the London Film School and went on to spend a year in London working under esteemed film editor Barrie Vince (Deep End, Divorce Iranian Style).
With editing credits in feature film, documentary, TV, short film and branded content, Nikos is an experienced picture editor who tells clear, entertaining and surprising stories through the magic of montage.
ANIMATION
Dave Carter - showreel
Backseat Rebel's resident animator Dave Carter works in clay animation, cutout stop-motion and computer-drawn 2D (Flash, Photoshop and AfterEffects). He began his career at Southern Star Productions in his late teens, and has since created an enormous body of work including film and TV shorts, music videos, commercials, promos, and branded content.
In partnership with writer/producer Nikos Andronicos, Dave's animation credits include How To Lose Weight in 60 Seconds (which premiered at the Annecy International Film Festival), Fish with Legs (Best Australian Animation at Flickerfest, Best Original Score at St Kilda Film Festival and Staff Picked on Vimeo) Billy and the Bitch (a series commissioned by "Happy Tree Friends" creators Mondo Media), and Psychotown (a series commissioned by Mike Judge for The Animation Show, with a second series on the way for US cable giant FX). He was also honoured with a complete career retrospective at Fest Anca (Slovakia).
SCRIPT & COPY
Nikos has worked as a professional screenwriter since getting his break as Senior Writer on Network 10’s The Ronnie Johns Half Hour while a university undergrad.
Since then, he has written on numerous TV and film projects, including the award-winning feature Ad Nauseam, the SBS documentary series Greeks of the Sea and the Mike Judge/FX-commissioned cartoon series Psychotown. Nikos has also written successful viral and branded content campaigns, worked as a script editor for ABC TV and Radio National, and has extensive experience leading writers rooms.
MUSIC COMPOSITION
Backseat Rebel can compose, record and mix music for the screen, stage and as standalone audio.
Composers Mike Forward and Nikos Andronicos have regularly collaborated as part of electro-rock act Pomomofo (Sony Bandroom Records), and have performed nationally alongside Fatboy Slim, Cassius, The Beastie Boys, Sneaky Sound System and Cut Copy.
